Do’s and Don’ts on Black Friday

Black Friday, the day that marks the official commencement of Christmas shopping season holds a special place for all of us. It is a day that brings lots of excitement of shopping for customers along with some special offers and deals. Though this special day needs some preparation in advance to get through the shopping spree with ease, there are some do’s and don’ts that you need to take care of on the big shopping day.

Let’s take a look at the Do’s and Don’ts of Black Friday

Do’s

1. Preview Advertisements

We are generally in a habit to check only the percentage of discount that a store is offering without going through the advertisement thoroughly. An advertisement speaks a lot of the terms and conditions and the things that a store has to offer. So, make it a habit to observe them carefully so that you don’t waste your time visiting there for a certain thing unnecessarily.
The advertisements also let you know about the duration of the deal and the time within which you can get the best deals. Other than that there can be freebies which are sometimes better than the discounted prices.

2. Utilize Digital Media

Almost every brand has its presence in digital media whether it’s on social networking platforms or mobile applications. Like their pages on social media and check out their apps to stay updated with the deals and discounts they have to offer on Black Friday.
The brands start rolling the deals days before the Black Friday to attract more customers and also to make a strong hold on the market. And, most importantly it is not only about the Black Friday, but there would be deals and discounts on the other days as well and what’s the better source to get all the information about them apart from the brand’s own social media page.

3. Plan a Budget

We often tend to overspend on Black Friday, to avoid this problem it is best to set a budget and stick to it.  In fact, it is very important to set a budget for Black Friday, as it greatly helps in avoiding spending on things that we don’t want actually, but get attracted by the deal and buy that for no reason.

4. Wear Comfortable Shoes

You might ignore this point, but trust me it is one of the most important things to keep in mind on Black Friday. The deals, discounts, and offerings of different stores will keep you on toes and you might be running here and there the whole day or night for getting the thing you want within the best price.
In this case, it is not at all a good idea to wear uncomfortable shoes and be in pain while running or making a purchase. Trust me, a pair of uncomfortable shoes will make you wrap up your shopping within a few hours, but comfortable shoes or comfortable winter boots will make you do it for long, even for the whole day and night.

Don’t of Black Friday

1. Don’t Buy Unnecessary Stuff

It hard to deny that we often pack our shopping bags with the kind of stuff that is actually not needed. Say a big no to this habit and avoid doing that completely, because by doing this you are actually stuffing your home with waste and also wasting your money on buying those unnecessary things.

2. Don’t Buy Anything in Rush

Always make sure to avoid rush while buying things on Black Friday, just check that it should not be defected or broken or either pre-used. We often tend to avoid these minor things because of Black Friday exotic deals, but end up buying defective, pre-used things.

3. Don’t Adhere Solely to Offline Shopping

It is not only about the offline shopping anymore, in fact, the online shopping has increased to a great extent in the last few years. Shoppers like to be in the comfort of their homes instead of going out and stand in long queues.
Many online shopping stores also offer some great discounts that are sometimes better than the offline stores. So, check all the circulars of stores and brands in advance regarding online or offline shopping and plan your shopping destination accordingly.

4. Don’t Rely Solely upon Black Friday

If you think Black Friday is the only day that is packed with deals and discounts, let me tell you that you are mistaken. Note that a week before Christmas offers amazing discounts and deals that are even better than Black Friday. The Saturday before Christmas offers highest discounts even better than Black Friday and the good thing is that the brick and mortar and online stores also don’t remain overcrowded on the day.
